Hyde went top of Blue Square Bet North for at least 24 hours with a commanding display against a beleaguered Hinckley United on Monday.
Hyde took control from the off and took the lead on 11 minutes when Adam Griffin’s pinpoint ball was tucked away by Matthew Berkeley.
David Kolodynski replied for Hinckley but his shot was well held by David Carnell.
There was soon a double blow for the visitors as Craig Mcaughtrie had to be taken off injured, and then they lost Mark Dudley to a red card after he pulled back Gianluca Havern, who was about to head into an empty net.
A penalty was given and Scott Spencer tucked it away for his seventh goal of the season.
Hyde were rampant, and after a great passing move, Ryan Crowther was put in the clear and he calmly beat Danny Haystead to give the Tigers a 3-goal lead at half-time.
The second half was like a training session as Hinckley hardly got out of their own half and Hyde were intent to just keep the ball.
They still added a fourth when, after a long passing move, a pinpoint cross from Spencer allowed Berkeley to tuck away his second.
With the game won, Gary Lowe rung the changes and it was 2 of the 3 substitutes who should have scored as Mike Whitwell and Danny Broadbent missed good chances.
