Hyde made their third trip to Yorkshire in a week – and it was third time lucky with a comfortable win over Harrogate Town.
It was Hyde who made the early running and they took the lead when Ryan Crowther’s delicious free-kick was helped in by Andy Pearson for his first goal of the season.
Harrogate had a penalty quite rightly turned down as Johnny Allan hit the deck, but referee Billy Khatib waved away the protests.
There was a blow for Hyde when Crowther went off with what looked like a hamstring pull and he was replaced by debutant Sean Williams.
Hyde then had a second ruled goal ruled out. It came when Tunji Moses, making his first start of the season, fired in a fierce shot which Zac Jones palmed away. Shaun Williams crossed back in for Danny Hall to head goalwards and Pearson tucked in, but the flag was up. A well worked free-kick then allowed Adam Griffin to fire one at goal but again Jones in the home goal palmed away.
Danny Broadbent’s quick free-kick nearly caught out Jones but he managed to get across and palm away as Hyde searched for that second goal before half-time.
The Tigers did that second goal with the first attack of the second half. A corner found Danny Hall, who had so much time to pick his spot and fire neatly through a crowd of players.
Hyde were in complete control and scored again when Gianluca Havern rose to head home again unchallenged to end any remote chance of a comeback from the home side.
The game petered out after that as Harrogate had possession but couldn’t break down a much more solid Tigers defence.
After the match, Hyde manager Gary Lowe told Luke Edwards:
“I thought we were outstanding today – I was really pleased with the reaction of the boys as there was a bit of pressure after recent results.
“I was also pleased with the defence. I thought we looked really solid and it was good to get back to winning ways.”
