Experienced striker Phil Jevons has become the latest player to sign for the Tigers ahead of Hyde’s first ever season in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
The 32-year-old Liverpudlian has nearly 15 years’ experience of playing in the Premier League and the Football League with the likes of Everton, Grimsby, Hull, Yeovil, Bristol City, Huddersfield and Bury, and has most recently been with Morecambe, who he left at the end of the season.
With an impressive ratio of a goal every 3 games over his long career, Phil is cult hero at several of his former clubs, especially at Grimsby, where his 35-yard screamer in a League Cup tie at Liverpool in 2001 sealed the Mariners’ most famous ever win.
Phil joins Callum Byrne, Andy Pearson, Alex Brown and Timothy Marshall in signing up for the forthcoming season, and we hope to be able to announce more names in the coming weeks.
