We’re delighted to announce that Ryan Crowther has signed for the Tigers for a third time – rejoining us on loan from Fleetwood Town until January.
Ryan, formerly of Stockport County, Liverpool and Stalybridge Celtic, first joined us from Ashton United 12 months ago and impressed straight away. A debut goal against Worcester City was his first of 9 during an 18-game spell at Ewen Fields in which he helped the Tigers storm to the top of the Blue Square Bet North table, before he took the opportunity to join Fleetwood in November.
However, having made just one start and appearing twice as a substitute for the Cod Army, Ryan returned “home” on loan in January, playing another 13 times and scoring twice during our journey to the Conference North title and promotion to the Blue Square Bet Premier.
Crowther played once more for Fleetwood after returning to Highbury in April, but is yet to appear for the Football League newcomers this season – giving Hyde manager Scott McNiven the perfect opportunity to re-sign a player who already knows the majority of our squad.
Ryan will wear squad number 22 and is expected make his third debut for the Tigers on Saturday when we travel to Gloucestershire to face Forest Green Rovers. Places are still available on the team bus for supporters to travel the New Lawn, with booking details available on our coach travel page.
Leaving Ewen Fields to make room for Ryan is Daniel Douglas-Pringle. “DDP” has made 51 appearances during various spells with us between his debut in 2008 and Saturday’s defeat to Southport, scoring 12 goals. We retain Daniel’s Conference registration and would like to wish him all the best.
