Tigers striker Scott Spencer has been called up for Paul Fairclough’s 16-man England C squad for next month’s International Challenge Trophy fixture against Belgium.
Scott made his debut for the Three Lions in the 1 – 1 draw against Italy at Fleetwood Town back in February, and a further 13 goals for us between then and now have proved impossible for Fairclough to ignore.
The group A game will be played on Wednesday 12th September at the Gemeentelijk Sportstadion in Zaventem, kicking off at 7pm, and nothing short of a victory for England will suffice for the team to stand a chance of progressing to the semi-finals.
The full England C squad for the match is as follows:
- Preston Edwards (Ebbsfleet United)
- Ian Ormson (Stockport County)
- Sam Hatton (Grimsby Town)
- Aswad Thomas (Grimsby Town)
- Jamie Turley (Forest Green Rovers)
- Eddie Oshodi (Forest Green Rovers)
- Simon Ainge (Guiseley)
- Lindon Meikle (Mansfield Town)
- Josh Gilles (Gateshead)
- Stephen Brogan (Guiseley)
- Keiron Forbes (Forest Green Rovers)
- James Vincent (Kidderminster Harriers)
- Kenny Davies (Braintree Town)
- Scott Spencer (Hyde)
- Andre Gray (Luton Town)
- Josh Wilson (Guiseley)
